Welcome!
Our Mission
PAL is a
youth crime prevention program that utilizes educational, athletic and
life-skills building programs to divert our youth away from gangs, drugs,
and criminal activities as well as to build trust and understanding between
law enforcement officers and our youth.
PAL programs are based on the conviction that young people can develop
strong positive attitudes towards law enforcement officers - if the youth
are reached early enough in their journey through life toward the goal of
maturity and good citizenship.
Our Organization
Melbourne PAL is a charter member of the National Association of Police
Athletic Leagues, recognized as the largest juvenile crime prevention
program in the nation.
-
The Greater Melbourne Police Athletic League, Inc. (PAL) is a
registered non-profit 501(c) organization dedicated to providing
educational and athletic activities for youth.
-
A Board of Directors governs Melbourne PAL. These volunteer board
members are community leaders that contribute their time and talent
to ensure positive programming is made available to our youth.
-
An Executive Director manages daily operations and coordinates youth
programs.
Our Programs
Melbourne PAL provides multiple programs to over 1,000 youth of Greater
Melbourne, supervised by over 100 coaches and volunteers.
-
These programs include: Basketball, Football, Tennis, Softball,
Cheerleading and Dance, Boxing, Volleyball, Golf, Youth Leadership
Program, Music, Outward Bound, and Summer Camps--see our
Programs page.
-
We have three locations: Grant Street CC (South Melbourne), the Carver
Park CC (North Melbourne) and the Melbourne PAL University Boxing Center
(South Melbourne)--see our Locations

-
Many of our young athletes have moved on to the college and professional
ranks in football, basketball, baseball, and track and field--see our
