Elegele Dominates Florida State Boxing Tournament

Elegele dominates. In
Jacksonville, Joey Elegele of Melbourne won the gold medal
in the Open Division 141-pound weight class in the Florida
State PAL Boxing tournament Sunday.
Elegele, who trains out of the University Boxing Gym in Melbourne,
defeated Robert Ramos of Palm Bay by technical knockout in
the second round.
Elegele sent Ramos to the mat during the match.
Richard Grant defeated Jaun Tuezada of Jacksonville 5-0 to win the
middleweight class.
Tia Daniels topped Miranda Whitfield of Hollywood 5-0 in the
women's light middleweight class.
Other winners from the University Boxing Gym and Melbourne PAL
trained fighters were Joshua Pagan of Melbourne, who won a
three-round unanimous decision against Christopher Rivera of
Orlando in the 11- and 12-year-old division in the 80-pound
weight class and his older brother William Pagan.
William Pagan won the 130 and 14-year-old division of the 119-pound
weight class with a three-round unanimous decision against
Shnalon Jones of Tampa.
